- Be quick to say, “I’m sorry”. It amazes me how rapidly a couple is strengthened in love by sincerely saying they are sorry.
- Do scope wedding dress trunk shows and sample sales to find your perfect wedding dress. Your dream wedding dress can cost you a fraction of the cost.
- Prevent makeup meltdowns by using a smudge-proof or waterproof mascara. (If you really don’t like its look or feel, use one coat of regular mascara overlaid with a light coat of waterproof mascara.)
- Do get everything that can get done in advance done as far in advance as you can. You don’t want to discover the day before your wedding that you have forgotten to get your marriage license or that your dress isn’t ready.
- Designate a guest at the bridal shower (ideally one with very nice handwriting) to make a record of the gifts as they are opened. She should note the type of gift, from whom it was received, and any other special information. The bride can then use this list to write her thank you notes after the bridal shower.
