Sagittarius and Aries are an almost perfect couple together. They are both fire signs and love adventure. More than this though there is an added balance between them which makes these two signs especially compatible. Aries is a natural, impulsive leader and life with an Aries is always going to be exciting but, often issues of control and dominance within the relationship can become a problem. The dominating force of Aries would grate on most zodiac signs, but not Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, which means that they are very adaptable. They love to wander, to travel and do not yearn to dominate or take the lead.
If Aries, the warrior sign, becomes too self obsessed or overly domineering then it is likely that optimistic Sagittarius will simply laugh in their face; bringing Aries down a peg. Sagittarius is a sign that is full of humour so Aries must be careful not to take themselves too seriously; but it is not wise to hurt Aries’ pride.
A more serious problem facing the two signs in a relationship is the lack of any conservative force to hold them back. Aries as the leader is likely to be reckless and, spurred on by Sagittarius who loves adventure more than any other, there is a risk of the couple burning out. They could run out of money, they could simply fall flat and realise that their relationship has little depth to it. It is important that Aries tries to slow down at times and truly appreciate their partner who is, deep down, so perfect for them.
For Sagittarius the impulsiveness is less of a problem. Sagittarius is the ruler of the 9th House – the house of higher mind. As such they have a natural tendency for philosophy or theology and deeper thought. Still, for Sagittarius there is always a tendency to look at the funny side of serious everything and this relationship will suffer if they do not take it seriously with the respect that it deserves.
These things, really, are not too much trouble as long as both partners are aware of the causes of friction (where astrology can be very useful) and understand the balance within their relationship. Astrology, of course, can be a big help there. Both signs have courage, a thirst for life and excitement, and can expect many happily matched years together.
For the similarities that these star signs share, there is a world of difference between them. They are both cardinal signs, meaning leadership, independence, and a certain tendency towards impatience; but the way these trait are exhibited couldn’t be more opposite.
Aries, the warrior sign, acts impulsively and recklessly. Their independence, confidence and often sheer bravado are contrasted by the rigid thoughtfulness of Capricorn, who will always weigh options up and act according to how reason dictates.
With two cardinal signs there is always an issue of control in a relationship and, usually, no sign can ever win outright. As with Aries and Cancer there must be compromise. If Capricorn enforces a rigid structure onto the relationship, for example, Aries will grow more frustrated, more confrontational and unhappy. In the end it will mean Capricorn must back down to Aries’ frustrations or the relationship will never work. There must be sacrifices and finding a balance between their vastly contrasting world views is the main struggle that these two signs must face if they are to be happy together.
The differences between these signs are likely to be the very things that draw them together. Aries is always a sign that is drawn to the mystery and fascination of signs with the patience and persistence that they notoriously lack. For them the wisdom and composure within Capricorn, as well as an almost steel-like inner strength and tendency towards discipline, is something that Aries admires; though it would be easier for Aries to choose an air or fire sign such as Sagittarius.
Conversely for Capricorn the confidence of Aries to act without weighing every little detail up in their mind first is very appealing. There are elements in both signs that the other almost craves to have a little bit of in their own personality. By spending time together in a relationship and growing closer both star signs can learn a lot about themselves and hope to balance out some more flawed aspects in their personality.
These are two cardinal signs – both strong, intense characters. This means the fire of Aries is like a Bunsen burner and the water of Cancer is a powerful jet. In astrology water signifies a sensitive zodiac sign with strong emphasis on emotions and nurturing, whereas fire indicates someone adventurous, direct and impulsive. These two opposites mean that the rash actions of Aries can often hurt the sensitive feelings of their Cancer partner. The fire of Aries works better with air signs such as Aquarius, or with less dominating signs, such as Virgo.
Initially the attraction between these two signs is intense. It is a relationship of pure passion where opposites attract. Aries is a person who loves to act out their fantasies and often does not wait until they reach the bedroom to do so. It is also quick to anger.
Cancer is also sign of immense power, as well as deep sensitivity. They are both very controlling and possessive. As such, arguments are likely to be fiery and regular occurences, but the make up afterwards will be even steamier. The attraction here comes from the fact that Aries gets excited by the mystery of Cancer’s deep emotional nature, whilst Cancer is attracted to the passion offered by Aries, which they hope will convert into the caring romance they crave.
The problem with this combination of star signs is making it last. Once the initial mystery and passionate attraction has faded there is an obvious clash between what these two signs want from life and their partner.
Sensitivity is a word that is lacking from Aries’ dictionary so they will often cause offense to Cancer. Cancer is not a sign to take this lying down though. Cancerian moods are legendary and the conflicting arguments between the two signs in a relationship could end up being a serious problem for the relationship. In time, as differences become more stark, even the make up afterwards could become half hearted.
