India is land of culture and traditions.Indian wedding is celebrated at grand scale lots of ceremonies take place before marriage .After long long wedding ceremonies celebrated by all family members now its time for newly wed couple to celebrate their wedding .Wedding night ceremony is for new couple .Suhaag raat is Hindi phrase used for wedding night ceremony in Indian tradition .The suhaag raat signifies the union between the bride and groom.According to Indian tradition groom and bride are not allow to meet before marriage .Nightof romance brings lots of hopes and suspense for both the mate as traditionally the groom met his bride for the first time on the suhaag raat.
The bedroom is beautifully decorated with fragrant flowers and the bed is decorated with hanging flowers, silk sheets and cushions, and rose flower petals. The room is lit with diyas (Indian oil lamps). Provisions are made for sweets, fruits, drinks, incense and perfumes .Humerous games are played with couple by there friends and family they have to give amount of cash demanded by their friends and families after that they are allowed to enter their room this is also one of rituals followed in indian wedding.
Visual concept of wedding night culture is shown in many bollywood movies.Now a days wedding night in India also not very cultural.Despite the modern vision of the suhaag raat, the importance of the night remains to be a significant part of Indian culture, whether living in India or other parts of the world.
