In this ritual bride-has to stay at home in her old clothes for a couple of days before her wedding. All the shopping of marriage is done week before the marriage because bride is not suppose to went out 4 or 5 days before marriage as per Indian tradition, She must sit in the vicinity of four lit diyas or oil lamps so that the glow from them is reflected on her face

The Ghara Ghardoli ritual involves the groom’s sister-in-law along with other female relatives going to a nearby temple to fill up a earthen pitcher with water that the bride will use during his bath.. Closed relatives accompany the family member to the temple and dance on the beat of dhol . Before her bath, vatna or uptan (a paste of powdered turmeric and mustard oil) is applied on her body by female relatives and friends. The uptan is believed to have purifying. Both, the ghara ghardoli and the vatna ceremonies are also performed for the groom at his house. Here the decorated pitcher of water (ghadoli) is brought for his bath by his bhabi (elder brother’s wife).the old garment of bride n groom is given away to a poor person according to tradition
